I am in total and complete agreement with the ladies posting about baking soda, lemon juice, vinegar etc. Instead of using expensive and frequently toxic chemicals to do your cleaning, 99% of the time, there is a cheaper and safer method using natures natural ingredients, it's just a matter of knowing what stuff to use for whatt stain, smell or scratch. One little suggestion I haven't seen posted yet, if you eat fish, when you've finished and you want to get rid of the unpleasant odor of fish on your utensils, add a teaspoon of mustard powder to the washing up bowl, no more lingering odors. No the taste of the mustard does NOT stick to the cutlery. It just gets rid of the smell of the fish.
The best mustard powder I've found that works is Colmans English Mustard, haven't tried any American mustard yet, not too sure if it'd work with the ready made stuff, why not try it and report back, just make sure you mix it in thoroughly, don't just let it settle in one glob. :)
